Well, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, so I say the burden of evidence is on him. Besides, there is a rich tradition of mystics the world over pulling all kinds of tricks on people. I think this could be harmful because if someone tries it in earnest, they will die like all the others who have tried to do it "for real."
