Just sign up on the web site and you can download it free. It is only about 40-45 pages I think, so it isn't a monster to print. It's big print and looks almost normal size printed two pages to a sheet.
It is worth the read because it helps understand what is really going on.
I agree with the advice you've been given especially to break your fast with a meal or at least protein and/or fat. I always start with cheese. Also, I don't like to go to bed full (Barrett's Esophagus caused by acid reflux), so my window is 3-8 PM and I often forget to eat until around 4. But I don't eat past 8 in any case.
One other advantage of this way of eating is that you get in tune with what your body/gut really wants. After a while, sweets and snacks become less appetizing since you really want and need real food. The specifics of what is appealing will probably be unique to you and will change based on activity and what you've eaten recently.
