First I want to apologize for all mistakes I will make in my posts due to writing in English.... hope you will indulge... :-)
Next I want to thank all members for their appreciated postings. I have already read a lot and all posts are very informative, especially the early ones. Everybody learned from the other! Great start! Und very kind group. :-)
Now I want to introduce myself: Female, 52, started fast-5 6 days ago, cold turkey. Last 3 years I ate low carb. This stopped my continuous weight gaining resulting from "healthy" 5 meals/day with lots of "healthy" carbs and cured my metabolism which I ruined by lots of very low calorie diets to stop the weight gaining caused by.... see above.... :-((
I lived happily with high fat and protein and low carb, enjoyed a lot of tasty meals and learned that this way of eating is very good for me, but now I decided that I want to loose some weight to become lean again. I hope to loose 20 kgs this year and next year.... whatever this leads to.
Because I lived LC I have no big problems with the fasting period. Before I had some longer periods between meals because potein and fat are very satiable for me, but my meals contained to much calories for a constant weight loss. Only second day was hard for me until I checked my teas I usually drink during the day and stated that they provide about 2 cal/cup. I was very surprised that this small quantity could cause hunger! Ok, now I stick to plain teas without any fruits and no problems here anymore.
Only problem will be in the job (I'm at home in the moment to recover from a surgery) because until now I promoted LC due to health benefits and next I will promote a new diet which is rather contrary to my prevoius WOE, or only complementary?... I'm thinking about my strategy here... ;-) My colleagues will pronounce me insane. ;-)
Of course my break fast is LC, carbs only from veggies and salads and some fruits in desserts. I use to eat only one meal within a window of 2 hours because my window opens when I start to prepare dinner and I'm afraid that there will not enough calories in this one meal because I'm satuated in very short time. I will watch this.
