Actually the "eat like a king in the morning" philosophy has been
around for awhile, and a lot of people swear by it. I think there are
cultural preferences: in some places they eat their big meal in the
middle of the day and then take a nap, and in others they eat their
big meal in the evening. I think we are the first people in history to
have *three* big meals a day, and that probably came about with the
advent of servants in middle-class households. Snacks got invented
pretty much by the snack food companies.

"I think you should push back from the table when you're still hungry," Breuning said...At 5 foot 8...and 125 pounds, Breuning limits himself to a big breakfast and lunch every day and no supper...."You get in the habit of not eating at night, and you realize how good you feel. If you could just tell people not to eat so darn much." ....And he drinks plenty of water...Breuning said he has been healthy all of his life and believes diet has a lot to do with it.... Breuning celebrated his 113th birthday with not one, but two cakes, one chocolate and one vanilla. And for his birthday lunch he got his favorite: liver and onions."
