Re: [fast5] Exactly how "much" is recomended in the 5 hour window?

I would listen to your body. Keep track some. Expect it to take awhile
for your body to figure out what is going on.

If you eat way too little, you will be very hungry the next day. You
can survive that. Really. Drinking lemon-juice-water helps (or vinegar
water). If you eat too much, you will feel too full, and won't lose
weight.

Most people just eat til they are full, it seems. From tracking this
list, very few need to actually work at changing the content of what
they eat, though some do (i.e. "don't eat junk"). If you do track your
caloric content, you'll have hard numbers, which might help you,
depending on how your brain works.

Personally, I'd say if you have an issue with binge eating, it might
be easier to work with "courses" rather than with "how much". I.e.,
make a habit that you are royalty, and you are being served in
courses. You can eat as much of each course as you want, because, hey,
you are royalty.

1. The soup/salad course (your choice). A nice big salad, with
dressing. Or a nice big soup.

2. The vegie course (sweet potato, green beans, yellow squash with
carmelized onions, whatever).

3. The meat/fish course (steak, seafood, whatever you like).

4. Starches (rice, potato, etc).

5. Dessert. (fruit, pudding, cobbler, chocolate whatever).

You can stretch this out over 5 hours if you want. It works better on
a cruise ship where there are actual waiters, or in Spain, where they
always tend to serve dinner in courses. But you can indulge yourself
too, even without the actual servants.

The main thing is: don't eat the starches/dessert first. The American
diet is basically ALL starches/dessert, with a little meat tossed in
on top. Your body doesn't know what to do with that, because it is
historically rare. Goats have the same problem: goats can eat grass
all day, but if you let them near the oat or corn bin, they will keep
eating until they die. Seriously: I have goats. Goats near oats are
about like humans near potato chips. So if you feel like you are a
binge eater ... binge eat on a big salad or bowl of soup. Go ahead and
binge! It won't hurt anything, and your body will then find it's
"stop" button.
