Re: [fast5] Exactly how "much" is recomended in the 5 hour window?

Goats have the same problem: goats can eat grass
all day, but if you let them near the oat or corn bin, they will keep
eating until they die. Seriously: I have goats. Goats near oats are
about like humans near potato chips

My grandfather had horses - I remember him having some trouble with a mare getting into the grain shed.  She ate till all the oats were *gone.*  There was a LOT in there.  She got *very* sick.  (very sick actually wouldn't cover it - she darn near died)  I remember this clearly because I used to think she was "talking" to me.  (She would put her head through the fence on my shoulder and nuzzle my ear.)  That day was the one day I got to go in her pen and pet her without the fence in the way.  (Generally we were *not* allowed in the horses pens because they were race horses.  Racehorses can be "unpredictable" - because honestly - their training drives them insane....)  I was ecstatic and horrified at the same time.  I *finally* got to pet her..  but she was so so sick it was heartbreaking.

Thank you for that memory.  I had forgotten it..
