With Cabbage on St. Patricks Day Sales this week, Fred, the Umbrella Cockatoo will be eating Cabbage along with his Fish, and he had raw hamburger yesterday. He cheated and broke his fast early this morning asking me to open his peanut butter jar.

When I changed her from premium dog food to raw meat she changed dramatically; she is gorgeous, strong, clear eyed and shedding decreased by at least 90% (which is really saying something for a German Shepherd!). The vet does recommend that she gets 1/2 cup of veggies (carrots and green beans are what he recommends) a couple times a week. I suppose we really need those phytochemicals, too? I eat a salad a couple times a week and sometimes eat my fatty meat meal swimming in a puddle of coconut milk (full fat and organic) with veggies as a delicious curry soup concoction.

To my normal meal of fatty meat, I have added a big serving of beans like black beans, pinto beans, soaked overnight then cooked in Lard until soft. This side dish really fills up your fasting stamina from that meal. And, since the beans are full of so much fiber, they are slow digesting and don't give the belly plumping as what I got when using Rice as an extender to my meat.

I worried that I was undereating and had slowed my metabolism (I'm always cold!). Then I read all of this stuff online about undereating and people who upped their calories and were able to lose weight again, but, after that 8lb gain, I was too terrified to add more calories.

So here I am again (intentionally this time), and I feel great so far. I don't weigh myself; I'm going only on how my clothes fit, and I have noticed a tiny bit of loosening - I think...

At first, I was feeling a little "slumpy" during my longer (2+ consecutive hours) day workouts, but this week I've noticed more energy during fasted workouts; I hope this means I've transitioned to burning fat stores!

Since beginning Fast-5, I vary between 1000-1200 calories per day - though yesterday, I ate 1300! I usually only even hit those numbers by allowing myself to eat a few extra nuts than I would have in the past. If I don't eat the nuts, I'm down around 800-1000 (if lucky).

I'd love to drop a pound a week. I know everyone is different, and I know I don't have a significant amt. to lose, which makes it more difficult, but 1lb/week isn't entirely unrealistic.
