Re: [fast5] Re: I blew it

You could try buying some PGX ... they sell it at most pharmacies. It
is basically konjac (glucomannan). This has the effect of making sugar
digest a whole lot more slowly. This keeps you full longer, and you
get full faster. If you eat a snack BEFORE the party, with the PGX,
you will be full enough that you won't overindulge. And if you take
the PGX just before the sugar, then the indulgence won't upset your
glucose balance so much (the sugar won't hit your bloodstream so
fast). It's great stuff, and as harmless as it gets. Konjac is
basically a soluble fiber, which is good for you in any case, and it
doesn't interfere with food getting absorbed, it just makes it absorb
slower. If you aren't used to taking fiber, you might get a little gas
at first, but that's the only downside I know of.

I buy the konjac powder myself, but it's harder to get. Also the
tablets are handy: you can just keep them in your purse and pop one as
needed. Worth experimenting with, anyway.
