I don't know my calorie intake, but I typically eat what I want. I make a point of starting with a small meal, not snacks or sweets. Otherwise, I don't worry much about what I am eating. But I virtually never eat outside my eating window (3 - 8 PM). The only 2 times I have in the last 10 weeks it was a big early morning breakfast and it took almost a week to get back where I was.
I have a beer if I want (once or twice a week normally) and an occasional glass of wine.
I started 10 weeks ago and I'm down 17 lbs. That's better than 1.5 lbs per week and I weigh less than I have in about 10 years or so (211). But I am a 52 year old, 5'10" man who would like to loose another 36 lbs so I sure hope 50 is doable!
