RE: [fast5] Re: Update #1!!!! :)

Have you tested your blood sugars?

If not, I suggest you do.

If I were to have mine tested in the medical realm, I would be told that I
am PRE-diabetic.

But I believe that tissue damage is happening before that magic number in
the medical field and have chosen to start NOW to make changes in my diet so
repair and reverse high blood sugar.

If you don't have your own glucometer, I found a very good reliable one on
ebay called WaveSense. It was under $9, so I got two of them (one for me
and one to test others with). The strips can also be purchased on ebay for
$37.50 for 100.

I just don't hold - currently - to the 'reduced calorie' mentality.

A few months ago I was following a 1200-cal/day diet. I felt hungry and
cheated all the time (I was not monitoring my blood sugar at the time,
either, and hunger is one indicator of diabetes).

Now I am following a high fat, low carb WOE. I'm easily consuming 1700
cals/day and I am losing.

As of Monday, I am also fasting (not currently 19 hrs) with success.

But, anymore, for me, success has to be measured in lowered blood sugar
readings.....

I had stopped fasting after 4 days because of the chest pain and nightmares,
I still lost 3 pounds in the 10 days. Right now I'm just eating when I'm
hungry and making sure that at least half if not more of my meal is fruit or
vegetable, currently I am not fasting. Its usually about 4-6 hours between
meals. I'm wondering if calorie restriction health benefits still apply if
you spread out your food instead of fast? I'm afraid I might be close to
diabetes if I don't change my life, I feel sick and jittery when I don't eat
right on a regular basis, I've felt really great now that at least half my
food is fruit/veg. I feel energetic and full of life
