Helena,
to answer your questions -
1 - simply because they're something I like, and versatile. As of today I had some roast beef as well because I'm getting sick of eggs... certainly hard-boiled, I've gone off them now!
2 - the lack of appetite is the biggest thing. Just the fact that I never think of food! And I don't really want it even during my window, I need to make myself eat it. I love that!! And I don't feel weak, or shaky - I just feel fine.
Thanks for sharing your experience... I'm not sure about cutting out veggies for longer than a few weeks, it just doesn't seem the healthy thing to do, but a small salad to start with should be OK - and then going slowly to add more veg, seeing how my body reacts. One thing I've found is I don't have daily bowel movements (sorry for TMI) since starting this and that probably isn't too healthy. I do take fiber supplements though.

I'm so glad you are feeling great. I'd like to know more, for example:
1. Why eggs, rather than, say, meat or fish?
2. When you say "the way I feel as I do this is nothing short of a
revelation" do you refer ONLY to the lack of appetite? Or does it make
you feel good in other ways?
My own experience is that until August I was eating lots of salad,
veggies, fruits, juices, a small amount of wheat (only breading on fish
and chicken, no pasta or loaves of bread) occasional potato and
occasional white rice, and no sugar other than a bar of chocolate every
day. My cravings were fierce, I could not stop eating, I was bloated and
tired and hungry all the time. From Aug 16 I gave up chocolate and on
Aug 19 I gave up all carbs. I started eating nothing but fat (80%) and
meat (20%) and drinking nothing but water. This killed my appetite,
stopped my overeating, killed all my cravings and enables me to fast for
15 to 21 hours each day. What is more, my athritis has gone, my carpal
tunnel has gone, the bloating has gone, I have lost about 11lb. I also
eat eggs, fish, cheese, cream and cream cheese. In the last two weeks
I've eaten some green veg and have gained 2lb. I find eggs, fish or
cheese do not kill my appetite or sustain me as long as proper meat.
