[fast5] Re: Please Help, Is My metabolism slowing??

Since your "metabolism" is based on how many mitochondria you have, the only way to slow your metabolism is to lose mitochondria. This would mean losing muscle cells or losing fat cells. As we age we tend to lose muscle cells so that is a small possibility. But I have to wonder, you mentioned eating possibly consuming 2000 calories a day? I don't know your weight or height or bone structure, but for a 27 year old female trying to lose weight, I would try to stay at least under 1500 calories. Try www.fitday.com for a starter. It's a free website that helps you to track your calorie and nutrition intake. Fast five does a lot of good things, but if you're still eating too much and not controlling insulin, you're probably not going to lose weight. Track your daily intake and let us know what you come up with and we can go from there.

This was when I was about 17. I am now 27. I have repeated that a few more times in my life with success, but now I don't know what's happening. When i discovered fast 5 a few months ago, it worked very well, but then when I stopped, my weight came back with a vengeance. I mean fast. I don;t know if it's because I was NOT working out, but I got really really soft. Then I tried to start fasting again and it seemed the weight just did not budge, so I stopped. I am doing it now, and I am not loosing. So, please, can this slow my metabolism???

I feel so terrible because I just want to eat EVERYTHING I can before my fast begins again. I literally eat good and bad food. But there is no way that I eat up to 2500 calories when I do this, not even 2000, so why am I not loosing?
